Dr. Martin E. P. Seligman

Dr. Martin E.P. Seligman is the father of Positive Psychology and former president of the American Psychological Association. He is a leading authority on resilience, optimism, pessimism, and well-being. In 1998, Dr. Seligman launched the positive psychology movement in his presidential address to the American Psychological Association, challenging the field to proactively study what makes life worth living. Since then, the field has attracted hundreds of millions of dollars in research grants and has provoked tens of thousands of studies, which have led to meaningful, positive changes in business, education, government, healthcare, military, and other settings. READMORE

Dr. Albert Bandura

Dr. Albert Bandura is the single-most cited scientist of all time and a foremost authority on motivation, learning, performance, and behavior change. He is the originator of social cognitive theory and leading authority on self-efficacy, social modeling, reciprocal determinism, and aggression. Dr. Bandura is especially well-known for his Bobo doll experiment, a modeling research study that demonstrated children’s ability to learn through observation and imitation. Dr. Bandura has also served as President of the American Psychological Association in 1974 and American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS) fellow in 1980. READMORE

Dr. Gabriele Oettingen

Dr. Oettingen is one of the world’s most respected motivation scientists. Her research focuses on “prospection,” which is how people think about the future. In her studies, she addresses how different types of prospection affect people’s thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and behavior. She has pointed out the perils of positive thinking and discovered a motivation technique called “mental contrasting”—which is an imagery-based self-regulation strategy that draws on nonconscious processes to help people master challenges in their everyday life and achieve long-term objectives..READ MORE
